Minister Ng Meets With Small Business Owners in British Columbia

The Minister of Small Business and Export Promotion, the Honourable Minister Ng, met with business owners in British Columbia to learn about the trials and triumphs encountered by SMEs when doing business.

While there, Minister Ng announced she will provide $3.5 million in funding to support British SMEs through the Canada Summer Jobs Program. Government initiatives: Innovation Canada, Innovative Solutions Canada and funding through Western Economic Diversification Canada were also discussed during her visit.

"Small businesses are the backbone of Canada's economy,” shared Minister Ng. “They are job creators that employ 90 percent of Canada's private sector workforce. Our government and Prime Minister Trudeau are committed to making it easier for small businesses to start up, scale up and access new markets.”
