Manar has over 25 years of professional banking experience in emerging markets with a focus on the Middle East and Africa region. In her role as a Women Banking Specialist, she led the design and implementation of landmark IFC Bank Advisory Services engagements in Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Oman, Lebanon, Yemen, Jordan, Palestine, and Pakistan. She also led the production of several research and thought leadership reports to help define the opportunity for banks in serving women markets. Through her work, Manar helps leading banks recognize how financial institutions can create value by serving the women markets.
Through her work with financial regulators, Manar had a keen focus on enabling Gender Disaggregated Data reporting across the financial sectors in key markets in the regions of her focus.
Manar served IFC’s developmental agenda in other regions like East & Central Europe region and the Global Women Banking program out of IFC headquarters in Washington, D.C.
